Meaning

Our mind creates meaning by first identifying a pattern then adding a story to it.

Once the pattern and story are established, anything that fits in is considered meaningful.

Other than seeking pleasure, humans also seek meaning.
And it is this need for meaning that humans have the capacity to choose pain over pleasure, unlike other animals.
Thus, a medicine to give to someone who’s suffering is meaning. But meaningful to that someone (not you).
