A man who is willing to lose everything, loses his fears as well.
A man who is willing to surrender himself, is given peace in exchange.
(It works for woman too.)
A cause of suffering is attachment, when we are attached to too many things. Too many things that we are unwilling to lose or surrender.
Attachment often causes identification as we perceive things we are attached to as part of our selves or belonging to us.
Thus any threat to these attachments trigger our survival instinct, to defend our lives, our possessions, our territories.
These threats do not even need to be real. Perceived threats are enough to trigger our fight/flight response. This is the curse for the imagination we are blessed with.
And so we suffer in fear, in anger, in sadness, physically and mentally.
This is the suffering of attachment.
